World of Warships: Multiplayer Battle in the High Seas with Real World Echos

300px-2016_WoWS_Key_ArtBoom, Clap! Ready Torpedo 1!  World of Warships isn’t just a regular PvP or Co-ops vs Bots type of game. has created a complete the set of period reenactment and simulation games with World of Planes and World of Tanks. Yet if you haven’t played World of Warships, you are missing out. If you like action, strategy, complete visual awareness, and historically accurate themes; then this might be something to tickle your fancy.

WOWS is available for PC/ Mac OS platforms. This free to play game has much to offer with constant choices for the user to enhance their overall game play, specs, and knowledge. The first thing you will notice when you go to is a ton of information and sections. The toolbar has everything you need to become successful at this game. If you would like to look over the wiki or get training, there is a button for that. So you don’t have to open a separate page to google search anything. The vibrant colors, and interactive options will make your graphics card happy.

How is the handling? The over all gameplay is wonderful, but can be intense. If you are familiar with dynamic games, such as Armored Core, then you will be up to par with WOWS. You will use buttons such as W,A,S,D, the arrow pad, your mouse, and/or a few others when navigating the waters. This is not a game for button masher. You will have to do some critical thinking with this one. It is suggested to take the Crash Course for Beginners located on the righthand side of the main screen, or under training.

You start off with basic ships that are customizable. You can play matches like capture the enemy base, or run notable missions. Adding flags, upgrades to guns, and camouflage will help you increase your survivability. Purchasing extra ships to add to your fleet will enhance your overall experience. To do so you can use in-game money, XP, and grabbing bundles. But note, it can be expensive. (Very Expensive) However, there are a few ways around that. You can buddy up with a friend or a random to gain gold/silver doubloons, and extra XP; have a friend gift you money or loot; or make purchases directly from the site. Also if you play any of the other games such as World of Planes, and World of Tanks; your banked money and gold will be available to you since you use the same login info.

Fleet building and team games are encouraged to complete missions, as well as, unlocking new features, ships, and goals. Sailing solo? Don’t worry, you will be matched with other players. One really cool this is you will get a heads up about players who have been less then honorable. In the loading screen before a mission or event, player names will appear in a tan/white color. Those who are in a pink/purple highlight are players who have blown up, damaged, or gone rouge against their teammates during battle. It’s not clear if this was on purpose or an accident, but you will have to be on the look out for them.  It’s important to pay attention to what you are doing. Watching the mini map to navigate, or relying solely on auto pilot is not always a wise choice. You will have to adjust your speed, as well as, direction to avoid hitting other players, objects, and lower your risk of getting blown up.

WOWS does a nice job of including more then just historical events. They have a decent variety of legendary naval fleets and armadas. All of the spec of each ships is historically accurate, and reconstructed to the schematics of the original liners.  No matter if you man a cruiser, destroyer, or aircraft carrier, you will be in the drivers seat of the virtual real deal.  Choose from or collect all of the US, Italian, Japanese, French, British, German, and Chinese lineups. Warships plan on adding more as they go along. Collecting commanders and admirals had its perks too. You can load some of them on different ships from other countries. Stay tuned and look out for holiday, movies, and anime concepts.

Overall, I really enjoy playing this game. Personally, historical or period focused games normally don’t appeal to me. In WOWS, there is a healthy mix of objectives, and progression to keep my interest. The fact that skill, map awareness, and teamwork is very important is a plus. I can see myself taking a few days of nothing but gameplay while enhancing my knowledge of past times. If we don’t become aware of the why, how, and when, we are as civilization are going to repeat it. This game give much needed respect to moments, people, and situations that have had an impact on humanity. I am grateful there in this way a silver lining can be added to some of the times, and instruments used for liberation, aid, and tragedy. Rated Teen for Violence. Even though its just a game, it does make you think. This is a game with weight behind it.

There is much more to this game and What is your favorite part of the game or the company? Do you like Tanks, or Planes better? Do you not like war games at all? Leave us a comment below or on one of our social media sites.
